Any jobseeker can apply to the State Employment Service office located near his/her place of residence to get consultation, registration and become a beneficiary of state guarantees. The person has to submit documents set by the Legislation for being registered at the employment office.

Question - What documents are required for the registration at the State Employment Service?

The following documents are to be submitted for the registration at the State Employment Service office:
  • A passport or other document identifying the personality
  • A social card or a reference on not having a social card

Question - What additional documents do the disabled people submit to the State Employment Service for registration?

The disabled person applying to employment office for job placement besides the abovementioned documents has to submit also a reference confirming his/her disability and the individual rehabilitation program.

Question - What documents are required for the provision of the unemployment status to the registered person?

  • A reference on the person’s not receiving the pension (excluding pensions for breadwinner loss)
  • A document verifying the insurance pattern
  • A military book (people passing military service)
  • Document on education (for people having education)
  • A reference on the factual residence

Question - Who are considered as the employed?

The able-bodied individuals, who are involved in any kind of working activity or have the right for the ownership or rent of the land of agricultural character, are considered as the employed.

Question - Who are considered as the unoccupied?

The able-bodied individuals, who are not involved in any kind of working activity and do not have the right for the ownership or rent of the land of agricultural character, are considered as the unoccupied.

Question - Who are considered as jobseekers?

The able-bodied individuals having reached 16, who despite being employed have applied to the State Employment Service with the purpose of being recruited, are considered as jobseekers.

Question - Who are considered as the unemployed?

The able-bodied and capable people looking for a job, who do not get any pension (with the exception of the types of pension for  breadwinner loss) and are registered at the State Employment Service  for job placement, as well as ready to pass to a suitable job and received the unemployment status, are considered as the unemployed.

Question - What are the criteria of the suitable job?

A job corresponding to the person’s education and qualifications is considered as suitable, taking into consideration the offered rate of payment and transport accessibility to the workplace.
The salary of the suitable job should exceed the monthly unemployment benefit 3-fold. 
The workplace located in the area of the same community (in Yerevan), for getting and returning back from which the person uses only one transport means, is considered as suitable from the  transport accessibility point of view.

Question - When is the person’s unemployment status suspended?

The person’s unemployment status is suspended by the State Employment Service in case of being involved in trainings, temporary or paid public work during the whole period of the duration of the trainings and the temporary or paid public work.

Question - When is the person’s unemployment status reinstated?

The State Employment Service reinstates the person's unemployment status starting from the next day of the completion or early stoppage of trainings, temporary or paid public work.

Question - When is the person’s unemployment status ceased?

The State Employment Service ceases the person’s unemployment status if
  • He/she becomes employed
  • He /she is recognized as disabled
  • He/she  reaches the age  giving  right for the insurance pension (except pension for breadwinner loss)
  • He/she is recognized as incapable  or  limited capable
  • Uncertain information is found out in the submitted papers
  • There is no reasonable excuse for not arriving to get a job offer
  • He/she refused different offers for job placement and professional training courses three times successively
  • The person died.
